This collection includes published works, photographs, employee documents, maps, safety records, accident reports, Mine Rescue Team records, and scrapbooks.

Series 1 Homestake Mining Company consists of materials published by or about Homestake including The Miner and Update training and safety guidelines, union agreements, photographs, information on the Richmond Hill Mine, and records of injuries at Homestake.

Series 2 Mine Closure and Reclamation consists of underground maps used during the 2001 closure of the Homestake Mine.

Series 3 Mine Safety and Rescue consists of reports on fires in mines around the country and Homestake Mining Company, Federal safety regulation documents, instruction manuals, photographs, and Mine Rescue Team documents.

This collection is housed at the Homestake Adams Research and Cultural Center with no restrictions to access. The collection may be utilized during normal operating hours or by appointment.
