Homestake Timber Contracts Paperwork

Abstract The Homestake Timber Contracts Paperwork collection includes documents regarding the sale of timber from National Forest Service land to the Homestake Mining Company from the late 1890s through the 1960s. The material also includes reasearch and correspondence from as late as the 1990s. The documents list the amount of timber sold and from which locations. The collection has a particular historical significance in the documents relating to 'Case 1.' Case 1 is the first time timber was sold...

Abstract The Jobs in Progress Records consists of records from the Homestake Engineering Office dating from the early 1970s through the mid 1990s with the majority of materials dated between 1976 and 1988. These boxes were kept in the office until the closure of Homestake Mining Company in 2001. The drawings, product specifications, correspondence, photographs and purchase orders pertain to several different construction projects around the Black Hills as well as the Creede Mine and Mill operations...

Lead Miners' Union Collection

Abstract

This collection contains administrative records of the Lead Miners' Union and news clippings from the Lead Daily Call and Black Hills Daily Register newspapers. The bulk of the records date from 1909-1910 and were created during the Homestake Lockout. The collection consists of meeting minutes, an account book, newspaper clippings and a small amount of miscellaneous materials found tucked within the minute books.
